Crédit Agricole Assurances makes an initial investment of €100 million in a tokenised Amundi fund in collaboration with CACEIS

October 8 2026

Crédit Agricole Assurances is making its first investment in a tokenised financial asset by subscribing to a tokenised unit of the Amundi Funds Cash EUR money market fund, managed by Amundi and held under custody by CACEIS. With the €100 million investment, Crédit Agricole Assurances is taking a major first step in its approach to tokenised finance. The transaction brings it concrete experience in the use of distributed ledger technology alongside Amundi and CACEIS.

The transaction demonstrates the shared commitment of Crédit Agricole Assurances, Amundi and CACEIS to contribute to the long-term transformations that are reshaping the financial markets. Tokenisation paves the way for new infrastructures that can improve the fluidity, traceability and efficiency of institutional investor trades. Through this initiative, the three partners are addressing these changes in a concrete manner to assess how they can be used, the challenges involved, and the long-term potential.

For Crédit Agricole Assurances, this approach is part of its mission as a long-term institutional investor, which consists in identifying changes likely to have a lasting impact on the financial markets and preparing its customers’ savings for future transformations. The transaction also illustrates Amundi’s ability to design innovative investment solutions to meet the changing needs of institutional investors. CACEIS is confirming its role as a leading player in the tokenisation of assets.

Lastly, the investment illustrates the strength of Crédit Agricole’s integrated model, which brings together complementary expertise across the entire value chain of the financial market.

  • Crédit Agricole Assurances, as a leading institutional investor, brings its long-term vision and expertise in asset allocation.
  • Amundi, Europe’s leading asset manager, has designed and managed the tokenised investment solution, drawing on its financial, technological and management expertise.
  • CACEIS, the European leader in asset servicing, provides the technology and infrastructure for the tokenisation of fund units, as well as digital wallets.

Together, the three entities demonstrate Crédit Agricole’s ability to harness its expertise to support the development of financial infrastructures and contribute to the emergence of new market standards.

“This initial investment in tokenised finance marks an important step forward in our approach to innovation and diversification. The transaction allows us to develop concrete expertise in tokenised market infrastructures, their uses, and the new prospects they open up for institutional investors. Our approach to tokenisation is to focus on the strength of the infrastructure, the quality of the underlying assets and the ultimate efficiency for our clients. We want to contribute to the emergence of this new ecosystem.” Florence Barjou, Chief Investment Officer of Crédit Agricole Assurances.

“With this new transaction, which we are delighted to carry out alongside Crédit Agricole Assurances, Amundi is pursuing the development of concrete applications of tokenisation in investment solutions. By drawing on our expertise and the complementary know-how within Crédit Agricole, we are supporting the changing needs of major institutional investors and fully contributing to the transformations under way in the financial markets.” Alexandra Van Gyseghem, Head of Amundi’s French Institutional Clients Division.

“We are delighted to be working alongside Crédit Agricole Assurances and Amundi to develop concrete applications of tokenisation in investment solutions. By supporting Crédit Agricole Assurances’ first tokenised investment, CACEIS is expanding its role in digital assets to serve large institutional investors. Our ambition is to help all players seize the opportunities of tokenised finance.” Laurent Majchrzak, Group Head of Digital Assets at CACEIS.

The transaction is fully in line with Crédit Agricole S.A.’s ACT 2028 strategic plan, a key pillar of its innovation component being the development of a multi-business line approach to tokenised finance.
