What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text, image or software file containing information that is saved on the hard disk of your terminal (e.g. computer, tablet, smartphone, or any device used to browse the Internet) when you consult a website using your browser software. It is transmitted by a website’s server to your browser. Cookie files mainly relate to the pages you have visited, advertisements you have clicked, and the type of browser you are using. They enable the issuers of cookies to identify the terminals on which they are stored, during the period of validity or time that the cookies are saved.

If your terminal is used by more than one person and when there are several browsers on the same terminal, we cannot be sure that the services and advertisements intended for your terminal correspond to your personal use of this terminal rather than that of another user.

How are cookies used?

Crédit Agricole Assurances, as the data controller, uses cookies to guarantee a smooth, trouble-free browsing experience on our website. When you log onto our website, and subject to the choices you have made and consented to during your visit to our site, we may install various cookies on your terminal, which will enable us to recognise the browser on your terminal during the period of validity of the cookies in question. You can reject these cookies at any time in the settings bar provided for this purpose via the “Cookies” section at the bottom of the page.

We use cookies to compile audience statistics and obtain data on uses of our website’s different components (pages and content visited, pathways followed, etc.), which allow us to improve the content and user experience of our services. Cookies also enable us to adapt the presentation of our site to the display preferences of your web or mobile terminal (display resolution, operating system used, etc.) during your visits to our site, and to implement security measures, such as when you are asked to log in again to access certain content or services after a given period of time. These cookies are installed for a period of 6 months.

You can change your choices at any time by clicking the “Cookie management” link at the bottom of the page.
