61% of doctors go online for their work

61% This is the percentage of doctors who go online for their work in France, according to a recent study* conducted with about a thousand doctors. For 37% to them it is to find help with treatment and for 21% help with diagnosis.

The study also shows that almost 4 doctors out of ten believe that connected objects could help to reduce the number of hospitalisations and manage chronic illnesses more effectively. 80% think these new tools can enable patients to be more involved with their own illness, but there is no question of them abandoning diagnosis or being replaced one day by automatic decision-making tools!

On the other hand, although they consider it useful to use connected objects in their work, only 9% of them recommend them to their patients, for example connected glucose meters for diabetic patients.

Doctors are also worried about the risks to patient confidentiality now that confidential information is routinely stored on the cloud and transmitted via the internet.
