Leading insurer of private French forests

At present, French forests are poorly insured against storm and fire damage. The public authorities would like to see this coverage extended and incentive measures have been implemented. Consequently, since 1st January 2017, only forest owners who are insured against storm damage are entitled to benefit from any State aid that might be available. They are also entitled to a tax reduction on their insurance policy.

Insuring the forests is a major environmental commitment because in the event of a storm or a fire, an insured forest will be easier to replant.
