Collective insurance and bank insurance, a winning combination

Since its launch in 2014, the Crédit Agricole Assurances collective insurance business line has got off to a strong start. Nearly 300,000 employees already have health or personal risk cover, and the key to this success is our bank insurance model. The natural synergy between banking and insurance positions the Group as the bank insurer for businesses. Crédit Agricole du Languedoc was one of the first Regional Banks to roll out this new business within its territory. It testifies on this success story...

A matter of trust

Believing in an insurer that is taking on an already highly-competitive market starting from scratch... for Crédit Agricole du Languedoc this was an opportunity and a challenge. As of 1st January, more than 7,500 employees have health coverage and 6,600 are covered for personal risk within its region. "Among others, we signed a contract with a major player in the waste management and waste management markets " says Patrick Brusley, Employee Savings and Top-up Social Insurance Account Manager for the Regional Bank, "a contract that was signed quickly and had a strong impact. Business then ramped up quickly. We created two technical sales positions and included personal risk. We have started a genuine new business in our region. Several wine cooperatives were also won over."

Capitalise on the strength of the banking relationship

« Our status as an insurer, manager and distributor is a strength because it allows us to control the value chain of the collective insurance business from end to end, » says Pierre Guillocheau, Head of Collective Insurance at Crédit Agricole Assurances. The distribution model capitalises on the close relations between the Regional Bank’s business managers and social insurance engineering unit with their corporate client portfolios. For their part, the Crédit Agricole Assurances regional delegates support the Regional Bank in rolling out the offer. They also provide back-up sales support, especially in attracting medium-sized businesses. « Benjamin Pierre, our collective insurance expert at Crédit Agricole Assurances, is a real help locally. I have as much confidence in him as in someone from my own team, » says Patrick Brusley.

The development of a comprehensive social engineering offering (health, personal risk and pensions) is one of the aspects of the Crédit Agricole Group "Strategic Ambition 2020" plan.
