Joining FfB marks a new step forward in Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Assurances\u2019 commitment to sustainable finance. It also reflects its desire to place climate and biodiversity issues at the heart of its investment and risk management policy on an increasingly operational basis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The purpose of the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched in September 2020, the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge took concrete form with the creation in 2021 of the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation, which now brings together more than 200 financial institutions. The aim of the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge is to support the financial sector in making biodiversity-related issues central to its strategies and decisions, through the sharing of experiences, collaboration between peers and the development of common standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In concrete terms, the Pledge unites international players committed to halting biodiversity loss through five engagements: collaborate and share knowledge on biodiversity-related topics; engage with companies by helping them reduce their negative impacts on biodiversity; assess the impact of financial and investment activities on biodiversity; set clear targets; and report annually on contributions related to financing and investment activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The combined assets under management of the new institutions amount to \u20ac2.64 trillion, bringing the total Assets (Under Management) of financial institutions in the FfB community (signatories, members and Hub participants) to \u20ac20.3 trillion. This underscores the scale at which financial institutions are now integrating biodiversity into their strategies and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to responsible finance<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By joining the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation, Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Assurances will contribute to the collective work carried out by FfB members with a view to developing methodologies, tools and practices to better measure the impacts and dependencies of its investments on biodiversity. As an insurer and long-term institutional investor, Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Assurances\u2019 approach reflects its determination to sustainably support the transformations of the real economy and contribute to a more resilient and respectful transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is fully consistent with the commitments already made by Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Assurances in favour of responsible finance and the preservation of natural capital, in particular through its contribution to the \u201cFonds Objectif Biodiversit\u00e9\u201d marketplace. This initiative, launched in 2024 alongside major French institutional investors, aims to foster the development of effective methodologies for taking biodiversity into account in financial management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Florence Barjou, Chief Investment Officer of Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Assurances,<\/strong> said: <em>\u201cFor a long-term insurer and investor, this approach responds to a highly concrete reality.
