In late 2009, Crédit Agricole Assurances launched a Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility process throughout its different entities.
In line with Crédit Agricole Group’s commitments, we defined the main social responsibility issues on the basis of our different activities, our history and our positioning, as well as taking account of the expectations of our main stakeholders.
Our CSR policy covers three categories of issues:
- Acting as a responsible insurer: our primary responsibility is to protect our customers by providing the right products, advice and service quality to meet their expectations, while also taking account of new issues in society, such as longer life expectancies, social exclusion and climate change.
- Acting as a responsible employer: as a subsidiary of a major mutual company, we attach very particular importance to developing our people, though a focus on quality of life at work, fair treatment and promoting diversity.
- Acting as a responsible company: by basing the way we operate on a set of business ethics, we strive to take account of the social and environmental impacts of our activities, not only in our purchasing processes, but also in the way we manage paper and waste. We also have a strong commitment to patronage activities.
Our efforts are based on the Crédit Agricole S.A. CSR policy known as FReD: F for Fides (confidence), R for Respect and D for Demeter. Our policy therefore covers all three dimensions of CSR.
Our priority actions are defined on the basis of the FReD standard, in which Crédit Agricole Assurances has chosen seven priority commitments that are specific to the Group’s insurance activities for the period 2012-2015.
